Abstract

Følgende institusjoner har fått i oppdrag å registrere kulturminner i de 10-års vernede vassdrag: Universitetets Oldsaksamling, Oslo, Arkeologisk Museum i Stavanger, Historisk Museum, Bergen, og Det Kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskab, Trondheim, utreder den arkeologiske delen av verneinteressene i Søp-Norge. Riksantikvaren, Osio, utreder den etnoiogiske delen av verneinteressene i det samme området. Tromsø museum har ansvar for både den arkeologiske, den etnologiske og den samisk/etnografiske utredningen i Nord-Norge. Oppdraget omfatter i alt 60 vassdrag. Hurdalsvassdraget, med Leirelva utelatt i foreliggende rapport, omfatter et nedbørfelt på 716 km2. Dåt ligger innenfor kommunene Hurdal, Eidsvoll, Nannestad og Ullensaker i Åkershus, Østre Toten og Gran i oppland, og det strekker seg fra Totenåsene til Gardermoen og Andelvas utløp i Vorma. Hurdalsjøen er den største innsjøen i vassdraget, som ellers omfatter flere mindre vann og elver. Det meste av vassdraget er allerede regulert for kraftproduksjon, med Hurdalsjøen som hovedmagasin. De eldste reguleringene går tiibake til 1700-tallet. Hele nedbørfeltet ligger innenfor barskogsområdet, med størstedelen av de dyrkete arealene og den tetteste bosetningen i den nedre delen. Særlig Hurdalsjøen og Totenåsene er mye brukt til friluftsliv og rekreasjon.
