Multimodalitet, mening og modelleseren : en analyse av multimodale ressurser i læreverket Streif

Abstract

Denne oppgaven tar for seg et utvalg av multimodale ressurser i Samlagets Streif, et læreverk i samfunnsfag for videregående skole. Problemstillingen i oppgaven er todelt. Først og fremst har jeg ønsket å kartlegge hvilket meningsmangfold som åpner seg når vi møter teksten med en lesestrategi som tar opp i seg tekstens multimodale ressurser. Dernest har jeg studert hvordan de ulike modalitetene etablerer rammer for kommunikasjon, og innenfor disse rammene tildeler tekstens modelleser ulike roller. Et av hovedfunnene i denne oppgaven er at språkets metafunksjoner realiseres innenfor de ulike modalitetene. Hver for seg representerer de forhold i virkeligheten og kommuniserer med tekstens mottaker på en koherent måte. Analysen viser også at sammenstillingen av disse elementene åpner for ytterligere meningsskaping. Videre viser analysen at de ulike modalitetene etablerer rammer for kommunikasjon, og at ulike stemmer dominerer innenfor disse rammene. Disse stemmene tildeler modelleseren ulike roller, og på den måten åpner for at mange ulike empiriske lesere kan møte en modelleser i teksten. Analysen viser også at komposisjonelle trekk som fremskutthet og informasjonslenking posisjoner noen grupper av modellesere foran andre.
