Politikk som performance

Abstract

Politikk som performance handler om måten politiske begivenheter iscenesettes. Jeg tar for meg måten store demonstrasjoner og politisk aktivistisk teater iscenesetter seg, i motsetning til måten makthaverne iscenesetter seg. Jeg grupperer dem som ”De protesterendes performance” og ”Myndighetenes performance”. Jeg tar for meg hva som gjør politiske begivenheter performative, de forskjellige ideologiene som ligger bak, og hva som er målet med iscenesettelsene. Jeg ser på sosiale dramaer og konflikter der de forskjellige gruppene iscenesetter seg slik de vil bli oppfattet av media og motparten. Oppgaven konsentrerer seg rundt forskjellige teoretikere, og blander hovedsakelig sosiologi og historie med teatervitenskap. Oppgaven handler om iscenesettelser som strategier for enten å konsolidere, eller å oppnå makt. Jeg prøver å vise hvordan myndighetenes performance dreier seg om å forvalte makt, mens de protesterendes performance dreier seg om å okkupere makt. Det elitistiske politiske spillet (myndighetenes performance) handler om måten enkeltpersoner og profesjonelle politikere iscenesetter seg foran kamera og folkemasser. De protesterendes performance handler om måten kollektivet iscenesetter seg for å okkupere makt i det offentlige rom. Oppgaven inneholder to eksempler som jeg analyserer, god lesning!
