[EUS] Kolonbiako hego mendebaldeko gizarte aurrehispaniko goiztiarren desberditansun sozialak (K.a. 500 - K.o. 1000) hileta mendixken eraikitzearekin materializatu egin ziren, non hilobi gutxi batzuek hatu bezala urrezko naturaz gaindiko izakien eskulturak edo objektu exotikoen presentzia zuten. Desberdintasun hauek interpretatu egin dira erritualezko autoritatearen buruzagitzaren eta eliteen arteko aliantzen araberakoak, baina behartzeko eta botere ekonomiko gutxirekin. Paraleloki, azpimarratu egin da emakumeen goi maila erlatiboa, nahiz eta interpretazio hori eliteen arteko aliantzen ereduaren kontra joan. Cauca ibaiaren goi bailaran berriki topatutako toki goiztiarren informazioan oinarrituta, proiektu komunalak eta pertsonalak egiteko eskulan mobilizazioaren buruzagien behartze kapazitatea ebaluatuko dut, baita emakumeen maila, “gizonezko gailentasunaren” ereduaren itxaropen bat ebaluatuz: emakumezkoen haur-hilketa.
[EN] Social inequalities in the prehispanic societies of southwest Colombia during the early period (500 BC – 1000 AD) can be seen in funerary mounds containing sculptures, and tombs including costly grave goods. These differences have been attributed to leadership based on ritual authority and inter-elite alliance, rather than economic or coercive power. Although such a model assumes a low status for women, scholars have emphasized the high status of women. By using recent information from the Upper Cauca river valley, this paper evaluates previous conceptions of the lack of coercive power of leaders to mobilize labor for communal and personal projects as well as the relative status of women through observing the presence or absence of female infanticide.
