Abstract

Il contributo ripercorre con taglio monografico l'attività di Agostino Mascardi, figura di crescente rilievo nel panorama letterario del primo Seicento. L'analisi insiste in modo peculiare sull'Arte istorica, edita nel 1636, opera feconda di spunti per la discussione, aperta dalla Poetica di Aristotele, e mai del tutto sopita, relativa al rapporto storia-poesia.
