El profesor como moderador del andamiaje entre pares

Abstract

El artículo, cuyo marco de referencia es la Teoría Sociocultural aplicada al aprendizaje de idiomas (Lantolf & Appel 1994; Lantolf 2000; Lantolf & Thorne 2006), pretende reflexionar sobre el papel y las actitudes del profesor como moderador de la interacción entre aprendientes de lenguas extranjeras que interactúan en e-tándem. Los datos de andamiaje que se analizan surgen de la interacción por correo electrónico de 24 parejas de aprendientes italianos de ELE y españoles de ILE (Italiano como Lengua Extranjera), cuyo andamiaje mutuo consistía en la corrección y reflexión sobre los errores en las respectivas LE. Los criterios de análisis del andamiaje remiten a una adaptación de la Escala de Lidz (1991), que indica las actitudes deseables del ‘tutor’ durante la interacción con el ‘novato’. Al tratarse de andamiaje entre pares, el rol del profesor es el de observar en qué medida estas actitudes se manifiestan para ayudar a los ‘aprendientes-tutores’ a modificar comportamientos que podrían amenazar la imagen positiva y negativa de los ‘novatos’ (Brown y Levinson 1987). Asimismo, la tarea moderadora del profesor consiste en brindar recursos y sugerir estrategias para promover un andamiaje entre pares ‘de calidad’, en el que el ‘aprendiente-tutor’ alcance una mayor conciencia de su rol y un mayor equilibrio entre todas las actitudes deseables previstas por la Escala de Lidz.
