Abstract

The search for new sounds has been a constant in the work of composers throughout history, with electroacoustic music as an important innovation in this field. This genre establishes a new aesthetic, where it is possible to incorporate elements of folklore and academic music, combine different perspectives of musical language, and reevaluate the roles of composer, performer, and producer in creative processes. To find mechanisms to disseminate Colombian folk music, enrich the Colombian academic violin repertoire, and incorporate electroacoustic music into academic and popular musical traditions, this work analyzes how these elements are integrated into Emanuel Marín Mesa's piece Magdalena for violin and electronics, thereby exploring alternatives in composition for the instrument and the traditional musical genres of the Andean and Caribbean regions of Colombia.
