This work intends to conduct an analysis, from an editorial point of view, of the paratextual elements in the juvenile fiction work of Alice Vieira, namely in the trilogy formed by the narratives Rosa, minha irmã Rosa (1979), Lote 12, 2º Frente (1980) e Chocolate à Chuva (1982), with emphasis on the cover, back cover and illustrations. It follows a theoretical framework on the relevance of paratexts in children’s literature, which in turn will lead to a detailed analysis of these elements in the various editions of the corpus, reflecting on their relevance in terms of interpretation of texts, but also on the definition of the public and the context of the publication. Reprinted successively for decades, the trilogy previously mentioned has known a permanent graphic update, authored by the most prestigious Portuguese illustrators and designers.
