Caracterização Petrográfica de Granulitos Ortoderivados do Complexo de Granja (NW Ceará, Brasil)

Abstract

The Granja Complex, located in the Médio Coreaú Domain (NW Ceará, Brazil) corresponds to a medium to high grade metamorphic belt consisting of three main units: (1) tonalite-throndhjemite-granodiorite orthogneisses – TTG, showing evidence of migmatization; (2) migmatized paragneisses with garnet, sillimanite and kyanite and (3) igneous derived granulites. According to their contents in mafic minerals, the metaigneous granulites can be subdivided into two main groups: mafic granulites (> 30% mafic minerals) and enderbites / charnoenderbites (< 30% mafic minerals). Both types show textures ranging from isotropic to gneissic and can be distinguished by variations in the modal proportions of the same mineral assemblage (orthopyroxene + clinopyroxene + plagioclase + garnet + biotite + quartz ± amphibole ± apatite ± zircon + opaque minerals), reflecting differences in the composition of their igneous protoliths.
