O design emocional na construção de interfaces

Abstract

Although the area of human-computer interaction has traditionally focused on cognitive factors, in the last decade there have been growing interest and focus on emotional factors, valuing above all the user experience. Since emotions play a crucial role - in terms of both performance and influence - in areas such as attention, motivation, memory, decision making and behavior, the emotional responses triggered in the interaction with Duolingo's interface (a website for learning languages) were analyzed, seeking to understand the potential of the application of emotional design in web interfaces. Thus, Duolingo's interface was analyzed regarding the different components of emotional design using data collection instruments such as eye tracking and self-reporting methods. The main aim of the analysis was to systematize aspects present in a web page, which reinforce positive emotions. In this way the present work intended to contribute to the design of interfaces that appeal in a greater extent to the users' emotions, in order to improve their user experience while increasing their level of engagement.
