Discretización temporal y espacial de las ecuaciones gobernantes del flujo bidimensional utilizando un esquema implícito en diferencias finitas

Abstract

La investigación numérica del flujo bidimensional evidenció que los métodos de solución explícitos presentan restricciones severas en el paso de tiempo, altos tiempos de ejecución, estabilidad condicional y oscilaciones numéricas. Este trabajo busca estudiar y aplicar un método de solución implícito sobre las ecuaciones gobernantes del flujo bidimensional para superar esas limitaciones. La discretización implícita se basó en el esquema de diferencias finitas desarrollado por Beam y Warming, aplicado sobre una malla computacional estructurada en coordenadas cartesianas. El estudio teórico se complementó con la derivación del algoritmo computacional y su posterior programación utilizando el lenguaje C++. El modelo resultante se aplicó en diversas situaciones hidráulicas, incluyendo flujo bidimensional, flujo no-permanente y flujo uniforme. Su aplicación reveló la existencia de algunas deficiencias en los casos de flujo no-permanente y de flujo bidimensional. Se documentó su origen y se plantearon posibles soluciones. La aplicación del modelo tuvo éxito en casos de flujo uniforme. Fue capaz de manejar el cambio de régimen y fue estable para números de Courant mayores que 1. Su tiempo de ejecución fue de aproximadamente un 65% del tiempo de duración del hidrograma. El algoritmo de Beam y Warming tiene un buen potencial para ser utilizado en modelos hidráulicos.
