El presente articulo ofrece una exploracion critica en torno a dos de los generos menores de la historiografia medieval en la Peninsula Iberica entre los siglos VII y XII, las listas regias y los anales. Trata de las diversas tradiciones y pretende avanzar en la interpretacion de su evolucion y su significado. Para las listas regias, se intenta identificar sus diferentes redacciones y establecer los parentescos entre los testimonios conservados, asi como su influencia y sus usos en Oviedo, Leon, Najera, Compostela y Cataluna. El estudio de los anales abarca todas las tradiciones peninsulares, y aporta nuevos datos y argumentos para repensar sus filiaciones, su evolucion y sus contextos. En unos apuntes finales, se intenta conectar la exploracion de estos generos con el desarrollo general de la historiografia en la Espana medieval.

This article offers a critical survey of two minor medieval historiographical genres in the Iberian Peninsula: regnal lists and annals. Covering the various traditions within Iberia, it aims to reconstruct their evolution and meaning. For the regnal lists, it tries to identify the different redactions and to establish the relationship among the extant manuscripts, exploring its influence and its uses in Oviedo, Leon, Najera, Compostela and Cataluna. The study of annals includes as well all the Iberian traditions, and brings new data and perspectives for rethinking their evolution and contexts. Some concluding remarks are intended to connect this research with the general development of the writing of history in medieval Spain.
