La inclusión de la dimensión ambiental en el currículo del Programa de Biología de la Universidad del Tolima

Abstract

Este documento es resultado de la investigación realizada para optar al título de magister en Educación de la Universidad Militar Nueva Granada. Esta investigación tenía como objetivo, identificar la forma en que se encuentra incluida la dimensión ambiental en la formación de biólogos de la Universidad del Tolima. La investigación se basó en una metodología de orden cualitativo interpretativo y la cual se llevó a cabo con estudiantes, egresados y docentes; así como el análisis documental de los planes de estudio del programa. Hubo la necesidad de construir unas categorías para el análisis de los datos y de esta manera se pudo identificar las concepciones de ambiente, en Educación Ambiental, entre la comunidad universitaria y el grado de ambientalización curricular del programa. En esta investigación se llegó a la conclusión de que existe la necesidad de incluir en los currículos universitarios de la dimensión ambiental; con el fin de cumplir con los lineamientos nacionales y ofrecer formación integral a los futuros profesionales.

This document is the result of an investigation carried out at Universidad Militar Nueva Granada to obtain the title of Magister in Education. This research aimed to identify how the environmental dimension is included in the training process of biologists from Universidad del Tolima. The research was based on a qualitative and interpretative methodology which was carried out with students, graduates and teachers; as well as a documental analysis of the program’s curriculum. It was necessary to create some categories for data analysis that led to the identification of the different conceptions about environment, Environmental Education between the university community and the degree of curriculum greening in the program. In this investigation it was concluded that there is a need to include in the university curricula the environmental dimension in order to fulfill the national guidelines and provide an integral training for the future professionals.
