Futuros docentes ante la lectura: Hábitos, experiencias y autopercepciones

Abstract

En esta comunicación se pretende presentar una investigación sobre la relación que tienen futuros docentes con la lectura, el modo en el que perciben varios factores en torno a ésta (como su perfil lector, la satisfacción que asocian a ella, la implicación de otras personas en su desarrollo lector…) y sus experiencias y formación lectoras. Para obtener los datos relativos a las percepciones del alumnado se administró un cuestionario a una muestra de 197 estudiantes del Grado de Educación Primaria de la Universidad de Málaga en el año académico 2013-2014. Los datos se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva. En los resultados obtenidos se aprecia que la satisfacción que obtienen de la lectura los informantes es insuficiente; un porcentaje considerable afirma que no le gusta la lectura o que lee de forma esporádica. Los informantes perciben sus primeras experiencias lectoras como positivas, a pesar de que el énfasis puesto en su formación lectora fue deficiente y de que la mayoría considera que ninguno de sus maestros logró transmitirle el amor por la lectura. Los resultados son preocupantes por tratarse de futuros docentes de Educación Primaria que en pocos años tendrán la gran responsabilidad de promover y consolidar el hábito lector en sus alumnos.
