Abstract

El objeto de esta obra, escrita a manera de ensayo, es explorar algunos de los horizontes históricos de la felicidad, o sea, los ideales más o menos frágiles o escurridizos que cada cultura se ha forjado sobre este resbaladizo logro. Esos ideales son tan variados y tan contradictorios, como distintas y contradictorias son las formaciones culturales. Cada cultura acaricia sus propios ideales sobre las metas que hay que perseguir. Ello quiere decir que algunas se conforman con la realidad y otras la quieren sublimar. Se trata de una hipótesis polémica que solo quiere suscitar una reflexión atenta y un retorno a las fuentes fecundas de la cultura griega.
