This work addresses a philosophical approach that seeks to overcome a historical milestone in which philosophy has been influenced by the postmodernist movement since the 1970s. First, we analyze, from the epistemological level, the fundamental proposal of the ―new realism‖, which has developed a remarkable questioning of postmodernism. On the other hand, we review Quentin Meillassoux's commitment to absolute contingency, which also constitutes another fundamental pillar in the (re)construction of an ontological perspective that transcends contemporary zeitgeist. Both the new realism and Meillassoux's proposal thus become a gap through which it seems that views and ways of thinking are being shaped that foreshadow a new path in the singularity of contemporary philosophy. A singleness that, even if it seems to the contrary, is still open to generate new horizons.
