MyFood - Control de caducidad de alimentos

Abstract

Currently, some 931 million tons of food are wasted in the world and one of the main causes is the expiration date. We are increasingly subjected to space out our purchases more and store more products in different storage places. The survey and interviews conducted (point 2) reveal that users have problems controlling the products they have at home and their expiration date, as well as the purchase of food. MyFood is an App that allows the user to have control of the food they have at home and their expiration. It allows you to add products to the pantry by barcode or manually and notify daily of expired or almost expired products by email. The purpose of the TFG has been to create a simple and functional App that allows to avoid throwing away the food for reasons of expiration date to the user and improve purchases. In conclusion, it is worth mentioning the difficulty of adapting a personal idea both at the level of design and functionality to the needs of the user. As future lines, the development of an OCR button is proposed to capture food data from a capture of the label image and taskbar notifications. In addition, the possibility of migrating the App also to other platforms such as Apple or Windows Mobile is valued.
