This article refers to critical considerations about limits of interpretation focusing on the category of “use” that is – depending on methodological basics – recognized as an opposition of the interpretation or one of its kinds. Some critics invert that relation arguing that interpretation is nothing but one of possible ways of using literary texts. Author inquires what in fact is “use”, what that means that someone “uses” the text, and if more that one kind of use exists. Taking for granted that all restrictions of interpretation should be minimized or absent while talking about the “use” author forms the opposition “is not allowed” / “is not possible” that sets impassable, although relativised to one cultural context limits of interpretations and applications of the literary texts.
