Abstract

La redazione VB del Milione di Marco Polo è composta da tre codici che attestano un volgarizzamento veneziano della metà del Quattrocento: di essi, il manoscritto Donà dalle Rose 224 del Museo Civico Correr di Venezia funge da base dell’edizione che propongo. Il testo critico, in cui si segnala anche la varia lectio della redazione, è corredato dallo studio della fisionomia filologica di VB rispetto alla tradizione poliana, delineando una possibile posizione all’interno dello stemma codicum. Inoltre, ho dato ampio spazio anche all’analisi della struttura formale del volgarizzamento, mostrando i meccanismi interni di trasmissione dell’opera. Di questa versione veneziana, oltre ad una breve descrizione linguistica, ho poi segnalato tutti quei tratti innovativi che fanno di VB un testimone particolarmente degno di interesse per l’eccentrica prosa e la dovizia di particolari molto spesso estranei agli altri relatori.
