A study concerning 45 mineral water springs located at autonomic Community of Madrid was conducted. Spas, bottled water and some water without health utility statement were included. Water flowed from up to 21 springs during the study period, the remainder springs had disappeared or had dried up. Whenever water was flowing from the spring a sample of water was obtained in order to be physical, chemical and microbiologically assayed. All the tested waters were cold. Water with higher than 1gr/L mineralization prevailed at the plain land of the Tajo river and oligometallic waters in the transition ground. Furthermore special mineralized water was found along all the county. Lots of the studied springs were in obvious untidiness condition but all of them would be recoverable and many of them would be used for therapeutic, industrial and social economic purposes.
