Efecto cardioprotector de la hemodiafiltración on-line en comparación con la hemodiálisis convencional.

Abstract

La Enfermedad Renal Crónica (ERC) se ha convertido en los últimos años en un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial. Se ha observado un incremento progresivo en su prevalencia en los países desrrollados que ha obligado incluso a planes de intervención estatales. El tratamiento de la ERC en se estadio final ha experimentado un gran desarrollo en la últimas décadas. La Hemodiálisis (HD), la diálisis peritoneal, y el trasplante renal han permitido salvar muchas vidas y mejorar la calidad de vida de gran número de pacientes. Hacia el año 1962 se comenzaron a desarrollar las primeras unidades de diálisis y poco a poco se fue evidenciando como los pacientes con ERC que precisaban tratamiento renal sustitutivo podían mantenerse vivos con una aceptable rehabilitación social. Este hecho ha determinado que los países con un mayor desarrollo dedicaran una mayor parte de sus recursos al tratamiento ERC, con un aumento significatico de las unidades de diálisis y un incremento de traplantes renales. En los últimos años hemos vivido un aumento en el numero de pacientes ERC tratados con cualquiera de las tres modalidades terapéuticas.
