Restauración de una mina de Plomo-Zinc-Plata afectada por drenaje ácido

Abstract

El Plan de Restauración de la mina San Quintín (Ciudad Real) tiene como objetivo la remediación geomorfológica y geoquímica de los pasivos mineros. En esta zona trabaja la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, Universidad Complutense de Madrid y la empresa contratada para realizar las actuaciones propuestas. Basado en un diagnóstico previo, el plan aborda la dispersión de elementos potencialmente tóxicos, a través de procesos de erosión hídrica y eólica, y la generación de drenaje ácido de mina (DAM) por sulfuros. Las acciones de restauración incluyen la estabilización de escombreras y balsas mediante técnicas físicas y químicas que minimicen la erosión y la movilidad de contaminantes, junto con la revegetación con especies autóctonas adaptadas al entorno. Además, se pretende recuperar los distintos espacios, de forma que sean funcionales poniendo en valor el Patrimonio Minero-Industrial y cultural del entorno. El proyecto busca una integración ecológica autosostenible, empleando las mejores técnicas de restauración minera disponibles. Este proyecto está dotado de 5,6 millones de euros procedentes del Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia del Gobierno de España bajo el programa Next Generation EU.
