Abstract

The best way to make children good is to make them happy», Qscar Wilde. lt is,ineluctable to ensure the child's right ·in' the Convention on the Rights of the Child fo healthy development and explores the contributions ·of neuroscience to the knowledge of child- neurodevelopment and its potential impact on youth ·and maturity, paying special attention ·to the various factors that influence an altered, abnormal, or diminished·development in relation to the child's potential. On the other hand, the connection between child neurodevelopment and the development of antisocial behaviour is discussed: we look at the significance of deficient and/or disturbed development in early childhood (adverse experiences, for example) and its influence on delinquent behaviour in adolescence and adulthood. Finally, a concise evaluation is made of the legal consequences, by virtue of neuro-knowledge, with respect to intervention with children and adolescents who commit acts that can be classified as criminal; data analysis of these behaviours, and a brie study of some novel aspects and weaknesses in the response to these child behaviours: prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation.
