Empobrecimiento, heterogeneidad e insurgencias

Abstract

En los últimos años, la pobreza y el hambre volvieron a aumentar en territorio brasileño. Si en un momento anterior a la pandemia de la Covid-19 ya se presentaba el crecimiento de la población en pobreza y miseria, en la actualidad estas tendencias se profundizan en el país. En las metrópolis empobrecidas, se redefinen hoy los contornos y extensiones del circuito inferior de la economía urbana, así como sus relaciones con un circuito superior hegemónico global, materializado en la vida cotidiana de la mayoría de los trabajadores urbanos. Condición para la participación en la división social y territorial del trabajo contemporáneo, la necesidad de adaptarse a las modernizaciones recientes se impone cada vez más al circuito inferior, que está, al mismo tiempo, cada vez más empobrecido. En medio de este proceso, pueden emerger contra racionalidades a partir de la agravación de las contradicciones propias de la pobreza estructural, encarnadas en las estrategias cotidianas de supervivencia de la población pobre de las ciudades brasileñas.
