Within the variety of tourist resources they have, the landforms has been a key for geotourism activities. The Global Geosites programme identifies the world’s geological heritage in order to conserve it. In the case of the Canary Islands, thirty-six geosites spread over the seven islands have been cataloged and belong to the context of volcanic structures and morphologies. The aim of this communication is to identify, characterize and evaluate the geoheritage in fourteen global geosites, and propose some actions aimed at promoting the use of different resources for volcano tourism in the Canary Islands. To achieve this goal, the methodology implemented by Reynard and his collaborators has been applied, which takes into account the intrinsic values (scientific and added), uses and management and the variety of attractions for volcano tourism. In general, global geosites present average intrinsic values, but they are higher in added values than in scientific ones. Of the variety of attractions for volcano tourism, the present in the fourteen global geosites are the landscape, the ecotourism activities and sports. This allows us to propose some itineraries as a valid strategy in order to promote the attractions of volcano tourism in global geosites
