Matemáticas manipulativas y alto rendimiento

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las Matemáticas a través del uso de materiales manipulativos. Este ha consistido en el diseño e implementación de talleres matemáticos que se han desarrollado dentro del centro educativo y en horario escolar, con alumnado de Educación Primaria de entre 6 y 12 años que destacan en el ámbito académico, especialmente en el área de Matemáticas. Se describen los talleres matemáticos, compuestos por las actividades con materiales manipulativos propuestas a los niños y niñas, y comentamos las actividades tipo reto matemático llamadas “los retomáticos”, diseñadas por los propios participantes. Además, se explica la evaluación diagnóstica y de actitudes que se emplea para el agrupamiento del alumnado participante, y la evaluación final y de actitudes que se utiliza para comprobar la eficiencia de los talleres realizados. Se analizan las respuestas dadas por los estudiantes, enfocando, sobre todo, el desarrollo del razonamiento lógico-matemático que se evidencia en las mismas y las estrategias de resolución de problemas empleadas.
