LA TRANSFERENCIA DE CONOCIMIENTO COMO MOTOR DE DESARROLLO:

Abstract

La docencia y la investigación son los pilares sobre los que descansa la enseñanza superior. La propia Ley Orgánica de Universidades de España de 2001 recoge en su artículo 1º.2.c. que son funciones de la Universidad “La difusión, la valorización y la transferencia del conocimiento al servicio de la cultura, de la calidad de la vida y del desarrollo económico”. En 2007 se constituye el Grupo de Investigación GEOVOL de la UCLM, con el objetivo de estudiar y divulgar los valores patrimoniales del relieve volcánico, especialmente en el Campo de Calatrava (Ciudad Real). La transferencia de conocimiento realizada desde GEOVOL ha tenido como fruto que en la actualidad el desarrollo económico y territorial de la comarca del Campo de Calatrava gire, entre otros ejes, en la puesta en valor del volcanismo calatravo. Los volcanes hoy representan no solo un motor de desarrollo económico, sino también una marca de identidad territorial del Campo de Calatrava, y en ello ha jugado un papel clave la universidad regional a través del trabajo de GEOVOL.
