Abstract

Las dificultades para conseguir unas condiciones ambientales óptimas para la conservación de nuestro patrimonio bibliográfico y el elevado coste económico necesario para mantenerlas, han sido las premisas que nos han llevado a la proyección y realización de esta cámara de conservación. En ella se ha creado un espacio libre de influencia exterior, que facilite la obtención de un clima adecuado y estable con un consumo mínimo de energía, en el que se controlen los principales factores de degradación ambiental: temperatura y humedad precisas y estables, y un control minucioso de la contaminación atmosférica y biológica; todo ello dirigido a aumentar la esperanza de vida de nuestro patrimonio bibliográfico. El traslado de los fondos a esta nueva ubicación mejora además otros factores importantes como la seguridad, el sistema de prevención de incendios, la instalación de los fondos y, en definitiva, la funcionalidad de la biblioteca

The problems to achieve optimal environmental conditions for the preservation of our bibliographic heritage and the high economic cost necessary to maintain them have been the premises that have led us to the design and realization of this preservation chamber. This chamber creates an external influence free space, which facilitates obtaining a suitable and stable climate with a minimal energy consumption, in which the main factors of environmental deterioration are controlled: specific and stable temperature and humidity, and a meticulous control of air and biological pollution; all aimed at increasing the life expectancy of our bibliographic heritage. The transfer of the book collection to this new location also improves other important factors such as security, fire prevention system and, eventually, its functionality
