La Biblioteca de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha posee una importante colección de discos, tanto de pizarra como de vinilo, que en su mayor parte proceden de antiguas emisoras de la región que por diversas vicisitudes han pasado a engrosar la colección de registros sonoros de nuestra Institución. La dificultad de gestionar y preservar estos fondos radica tanto en la instalación para su conservación adecuada, como en el equipamiento necesario para su consulta siendo prácticamente imprescindible la digitalización. Es un fondo patrimonial valioso que reúne la música de una época en el cual los límites entre preservación, consulta, conservación y accesibilidad plantean serias dificultades que requiere de expertos en el tema.
The Library of the University of Castilla-La Mancha holds an important sound collection which is formed by slate discs and vinyl records mostly coming from old radio stations in the region. The difficulty of managing and preserving this collection lies both in the installation for proper conservation and in the necessary equipment for the use of it, which involves the digitization of the records. It is a valuable heritage stock of music of a time that requires material preservation and conservation experts for future accessibility
