Abstract

Los diferentes componentes de la matriz extracelular (MEC) han sido estudiados durante mucho tiempo, pero no ha sido hasta las últimas décadas cuando se han empezado a elucidar sus diferentes implicaciones en el microambiente tisular para el correcto funcionamiento de los órganos. Una de estas funciones tiene relación con la organización del sistema circulatorio (tanto vascular como linfático). En la siguiente revisión, presentamos el papel decisivo que un componente de la MEC, la fibronectina, tiene en el desarrollo y función de la angiogénesis y linfangiogénesis. Ambos son procesos clave en la curación de heridas, y la fibronectina una de las glicoproteínas de la MEC fundamental para que se realicen correctamente. Mediante la revisión de los estudios realizados sobre la ausencia de esta glicoproteína o sus ligandos, las integrinas, destacamos su estrecha relación.
