Hace tiempo que mantengo que ha de ser el conocimiento erotético y no el conocimiento proposicional aquél en el que hemos de fijar nuestra atención si queremos saber con precisión qué cree un sujeto. Recientemente, Jonathan Shaffer ha defendido que el primer tipo de conocimiento no es reductible al segundo. En el presente trabajo se revisan sus argumentos y se concluye que Shaffer no ha conseguido mostrar tal supuesta irreductibilidad. Sin embargo, defiendo que, creyendo de un mismo enunciado que es verdadero, un sujeto puede tener creencias diferentes según qué preguntas (y con qué grado de certeza) pueda contestar. For quite a long time I have held that it is better to focus on knowledge-wh instead of propositional knowledge in order to see what a subject really believes. Recently, in a paper that is becoming quite influential, Jonathan Shaffer has held that the first kind of knowledge is not reducible to the second. In this paper I examine his arguments and conclude that he has not proven such irreducibility. However I hold that, in believing that one sentence is true, one can have different beliefs depending on what questions (and with which degree of certainty) one can answer.
