This paper tries to analyse the historic evolution of creationism, describing its several stages that has gone through as a tale or explanation about the universe and life origins. Focuses the difference between creationism previous to On the Origin of Species and the subsequent one, which is named ¿neo-creationism¿ because of its antidarwinist or antievolutionist aim. It also points out two epistemological changes in its evolution: the first, from mere creationism to creation science or scientific creationism, and the second, from scientific creationism to intelligent design. As a result, the paper com-pletes a general historical development in which creationism, initially a cosmogonic and anthropogenic myth, ends to be a pseudoscience. In addition, exposes briefly some of the ideological, social and political implications of this process.
