La evolución histórica de los conceptos científicos como prerrequisito para comprender su significado actual: el caso de la cantidad de sustancia y el mol

Abstract

En el presenta trabajo se analiza la evolución histórica da la estequiomertria, desde sus orígenes con la introducción del concepto da paso equivalente a finas del siglo XVIII hasta la introducción da la magnitud fundamental 'cantidad de sustancia' a mediados del siglo XX. Ambos conceptos resuelvan al antiguo problema da las proporciones en masa con que se combinan las sustancias desde paradigmas distintos: al equivalantiata y al atomista, respectivamente. En esta análisis se incluyan las layas da Richter, Proust y Gay-Lusaac, las hipótesis de Dalton y Avogadro y la invención por Oatwald (1900) del 'mes' como una unidad da masa característica da cada sustancia desde su visión equivalantiata. Posteriormente, se concluye que la comunidad científica cambió su significado adacuándolo al marco atomista y consideró al mol como la unidad da una nueva magnitud, la 'cantidad da sustancia' (1961). Finalmente se expondrá porqué es inconsistente introducir, al mismo tiempo, los conceptos da equivalente y da mol en la enseñanza da la estequiometría.
