This paper explores the use of the principle of systemic integration in investment arbitration under Article 31(3)(c) of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties. It reviews case law where human rights, environmental or labor norms have informed the interpretation of investment treaties. While the application remains uneven, systemic integration enhances normative coherence and legitimacy.
