La calidad del empleo en España: una panorámica territorial

Abstract

En el caso de España y sus comunidades autónomas, con tasas de paro todavía elevadas y por encima de lo habitual en los países de su entorno, lograr el pleno empleo ha de continuar siendo un objetivo central de la estrategia de política económica. Sin embargo, ese objetivo debe combinarse con la mejora de la calidad del empleo, tal y como señalan Lorenzo Serrano, Ángel Soler y Fernando Pascual quienes analizan la calidad del empleo en España y sus comunidades autónomas a lo largo del periodo 2007-2022 mediante un índice sintético que recoge el comportamiento de 18 indicadores correspondientes a 5 dimensiones. Este índice de calidad dibuja un patrón claro de diferencias territoriales que, además, resulta notablemente persistente a lo largo del tiempo y coherente con el observado en otros ámbitos del desarrollo social y económico. En términos de calidad global del empleo los mayores niveles se dan en el País Vasco, Madrid, Cataluña, Navarra y La Rioja, frente a una situación menos favorable en Canarias y las regiones del sur peninsular.
