In the following study we propose to analyse how two different speaker communities, Medina Sidonia and Cádiz, perform two specific speech acts with the aim of identifying possible differences in the way each group linguistically encodes them. Additionally, sociological factors such as the speaker’s gender and role will also be taken into account to evaluate whether they influence the verbalization of these acts, namely expressing disagreement and interrupting. After a review of the theory of speech acts and the contributions made by linguists such as Austin or Searle and others in the field of Hispanic linguistics, we will focus on analysing both speech acts, using a range of sources to gather information on their definitions and uses. To collect the data that will form the corpus for the practical part of the research, we will use the Discourse Completion Test (DCT), as it is the most widely employed method for the collection of speech acts samples in pragmalinguistic studies.
Discourse Completion Test (DCT), expresar desacuerdo, interrupt, express disagreement, actos de habla, speech acts, interrumpir
