Abstract

ABSTRACT: The convenience of experimental activity in science education has been the focus of debate for several decades, and currently the discussion has been permeated by the role of ICTs in this learning environment, which is usually used to check theories, lacking epistemological and methodological foundations that allow the subject to assume an active role in the construction of knowledge. Given this situation, we intend to analyze the relevance of Vergnaud's theory of conceptual fields for the study of cognitive development in experimental activity in physics supported by Data Acquisition Systems (SAD), based on the Arduino platform. This study is carried out in a physics class with a group of science teachers in training. In the literature review, it has been found that the theory of conceptual fields is an appropriate reference to identify difficulties in conceptualization, to study cognitive development in experimental activity, and to propose didactic sequences with problem situations that enhance this development. On the other hand, in terms of SAD, these are positioned as an important alternative to support the experimental activity since they allow to relate variables in real time, facilitate the collection of data, and favor conceptualization processes. In conclusion, it is considered that the theory of conceptual fields allows to base and direct experimental activity in physics, which, when being supported by technological resources, is presented as an important line of research in scientific education.
