Abstract

La obra de Griselda Gambaro (Buenos Aires, 1928) ha alcanzado repercusión y prestigio internacional debido, sobre todo, a su aportación a la dramaturgia escrita en lengua española. "Desafío" y "lucidez" resultan dos conceptos muy elocuentes para acercarse al texto con el que se abre este libro: El campo, obra emblemática estrenada en 1968 y considerada en su momento como un revelador augurio de la feroz represión que se desataría años después en Argentina. Asimismo, se recopilan catorce estudios de investigadores que, desde distintos enfoques, analizan las múltiples aristas de una obra que, pese a su calidad e influencia, ha sido poco editada en España y ha tenido poca presencia en nuestros teatros. Este volumen cubre un hueco en el ámbito de los estudios latinoamericanos publicados e implica el reconocimiento académico a una autora imprescindible.
