Abstract

During the emergency excavation carried out in 1990 in the Roman villa of Las Viñas, located in Cuevas del Becerro (Málaga), a group of forty-six bronze coins was found that refer to a chronological period between the 1st and 4th centuries A.D. This work exposes the cataloging and historical study of this group of coins. Their analysis will contribute to a better understanding of the monetary circulation in the Serranía de Ronda and will also provide us with interesting information about the transformations that have taken place in the rural area of this region since the 3rd century A.D.
