In previous studies (PAMIES 2002), the concepts of iconic model and archimetaphor have been proposed to study the existence of systematicity in the creation and comprehension of idiomatic expressions (from the point of view of the universality of their underlying cognitive mechanisms). This investigation applies these meta-linguistic tools to the analysis of idioms within the field of drunkenness in various languages.
