El presente artículo ofrece una lectura de Lumpérica, la primera novela de la escritora chilena Diamela Eltit, entendida como una forma textual compleja que ensaya diversas estrategias de experimentación narrativa vinculadas con la corriente del neobarroco. Para ello, nos focalizamos en la dimensión metaficcional del texto, en tanto desdoblamiento del proceso de escritura. Sostenemos que, a través de la metaficción, la novela explora metafóricamente la dimensión simbólica del cuerpo y los límites de la representación literaria. De esta manera, proyecta diversos interrogantes estéticos y políticos referidos al lugar de la escritura en un espacio dominado por la violencia y la censura.
This article analyzes Lumpérica, the first novel by the Chilean writer Diamela Eltit, as a complex textual form that offers narrative experimentation strategies linked to the neo-baroque. For this, we focus on metafiction as an unfolding of writing. We consider that through metafiction the novel explores the symbolic dimension of the body and the limits of literary representation. In this way, projects aesthetic and political questions regarding the place of writing in a space dominated by violence and censorship.
