Dirección Escolar y Liderazgo en el Ámbito Iberoamericano

Abstract

International research confirms that leadership makes a difference in schools, since school leaders are able to indirectly influence students' learning by modeling the conditions in which they occur. The potential of leadership for the improvement of schools has not gone unnoticed in the IberoAmerican context. The most current evidence indicates that, although the levels of leadership are improving and there are real efforts to make it possible, the performance of pedagogical leadership is still weak and is below the international average. This monographic issue includes a total of ten research articles elaborated by prestigious authors that offer an Ibero-American perspective on the situation of educational policies that support school leadership, the training of school principals and studies that analyze the distributed leadership in schools.
