The main aim of this teaching research is to introduce and create a syllabus to foster the sexual education among mentally disabled people, in order to analyze the results obtained after the procedure that have been carried out. The participants are a group of seven young students with a mental disorder; all of them attend to a solidarity association called “Angeles Urbanos” in Madrid. This project uses an investigation-action methodology, because it pretends to improve the current social and educational system. The instruments that have been chosen to gather information in this project are quantities and qualitative. The results highlight firstly, the effectiveness of this procedure with mentally disabled people and in the second place, it also highlight the necessity to educate this group of people throughout sexuality, we should be aware that they are not different from the rest of people and many authors agree in that fact. El objetivo que presenta este trabajo de investigación educativa es, crear e implementar un programa dirigido a potenciar la educación sexual de personas con discapacidad intelectual y analizar los resultados obtenidos, tras la intervención llevada a cabo. Los participantes, son un grupo de siete jóvenes con discapacidad intelectual de la asociación ``Ángeles Urbanos´´ de Madrid. Este trabajo, utiliza la metodología investigación- acción, ya que pretende hacer una mejora en el sistema educativo y social. Se utilizan instrumentos de recogida de datos cuantitativos y cualitativos. Los resultados, ponen de manifiesto, en primer lugar, la eficacia de los programas de intervención en personas con discapacidad intelectual y, en segundo lugar, la necesidad de educar la sexualidad de este colectivo de personas, que de acuerdo con varios autores, no es diferente a la del resto de personas.
