Oltre la materia. Introduzione al restauro virtuale

Abstract

At a time when the fragilities of cultural heritage are becoming increasingly evident, virtual restoration is emerging as a scientific practice and an interpretive tool capable of extending knowledge beyond the confines of the subject. This volume offers a critical and updated introduction to the discipline, addressing its theoretical foundations, methodological implications, and potential applications. Through emblematic case studies and an interdisciplinary methodological reflection that intertwines archaeology, diagnostics, and digital technology, the book offers students and curious readers a guide to understanding how the past can be documented, reconstructed, and narrated through new visual languages.
