Relações amorosas e infidelidade

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the infidelity in the various types of romantic relationships (romantic styles) and the unfaithful behavior with regards to gender and their motivations. It is the result of an on-line, self-answered questionnaire sample of 186 participants, aged between 18 and 65, built with the following instruments: LAS - SF, a scale that evaluates the connection between sex and love in a romantic relationship; IPG, the inventory that assesses the characteristics of the female and male gender; ECR – S, a questionnaire that analyses the type of attachment in adults; IMI, a questionnaire that assesses the motives for infidelity. As for love relationships, the study concludes that there are significantly higher values in the male group for Ludus styles, although for infidelity reasons, there are gender differences, namely; the male group has significantly higher results when it comes to sexual motivation whereas the female group has a higher emotional motivation for infidelity.
