Arte sonora e transdisciplinaridade: processos criativos, DMI, mineração de dados e sonificação

Abstract

This research addresses the connection between sound art and transdisciplinarity as the artist's creative methodology, highlighting the creation and development of the sound installation entitled 'Concerto para Piano e Pandemia'. The work integrates music, DMIs, data mining, data sonification and the development of software for musical creation. The text presents a literature review on sound art and related epistemological issues, as well as an analysis of the state of the art in NIME and a theoretical and practical review of data mining and data sonification as artistic practice. The process of developing the work is also detailed, with a reflection on the conceptualization of the work in various formats, presented online, at exhibitions and conferences, as well as being converted into an application for artistic data sonification. A report on the reach of the work, with data of visualizations, is presented. The work demonstrates the trajectory travelled by the author from the initial idea to the practical implementation of the work, including the socio-cultural and temporal insertion and the changes that a work in real time can undergo. The work contributes to the field of sound art studies, highlighting it as one of the main forms of application of transdisciplinary thinking. It is also a case study of artistic creation, where the author assumes several roles in the project, including creative artist, technical developer, theoretician and practical implementer, as well as transforming the work into software so that more artists can make use of this work. Keywords: Sound Art, Transdisciplinarity, Data Mining, Data Sonification, New Interfaces for Musical Expression, COVID-19, Twitter
