Actividades productivas en ámbitos eclesiásticos tardoantiguos en Valentia y su entorno territorial

Abstract

En Valentia y su entorno territorial cercano se han localizado varias instalaciones productivas relacionadas con el poder religioso. Una, la más antigua (final del siglo IV-inicios del V), está en el núcleo urbano. Las otras, de los siglos VI-VII, han aparecido en monasterios o áreas rurales asociadas con iglesias. Todas ellas se dedicaron a elaborar productos alimenticios. Se conocen más espacios productivos de elaboración de alimentos en alguna de las villae que perduraron hasta el siglo VIII, como una de Paterna y otra de Bétera. En la cercana nueva ciudad de València la Vella (Riba-roja de Túria), se han encontrado varios hornos de vidrio y quizás de metales. Estos casos, sin embargo, no parecen tener relación con ámbitos eclesiásticos.
