Abstract

Following the work developed in the Curricular Units of Teaching Projects of the 2nd Cycle in Mathematics for Teachers, in the areas of Theory of Matrices and Graphs, we deepen the concepts and results involved and at the same time, we have established a connection to teaching by presenting an appropriate approach to the teaching of those to secondary education. The importance of Theory of Matrices and Graphs is widely recognized in several areas, namely in Engineering, Physics and Computer Science. As such, we present in this work some applications in order to highlight the reach of Matrix Theory and Graphs in daily life and with this, to contribute to the enrichment of the teaching of these concepts in the teaching when choosing to present them in context of classroom. No less important than the applicability of Theory of Matrices and Graphs, is the respective historical framework that we contemplate in this work.
