Empreendedorismo imigrante em Portugal

Abstract

A comunidade brasileira é a maior comunidade estrangeira residente em Portugal, e para compreender melhor o fenômeno do empreendedorismo imigrante, com ênfase nos brasileiros, o presente estudo tem como objetivo conhecer os determinantes na criação de empresas por empreendedores brasileiros em Portugal. Os empreendimentos de imigrantes são importantes fontes de vitalidade e desenvolvimento urbano nas cidades moderna, isto porque há uma grande participação das PME, é uma forma de integração entre a população imigrante e o país de acolhimento ao mesmo tempo em que cria dinamismo na economia do país. Para dar respostas aos objetivos traçados, foi delineada uma investigação de natureza qualitativa enquadrada na metodologia de estudo de caso exploratório, elaborou-se um guião de entrevista, flexíveis e abertas, do qual faz parte um conjunto de questões, fundamentadas na teoria do estudo, com a finalidade de dar cumprimento aos objetivos do estudo, a entrevista é composta por 29 questões. As variáveis explicativas consideradas para o estudo são — necessidade de realização, autoeficácia, propensão a assumir risco, locus de controle, e medidas de apoio ao empreendedorismo para assim obter a variável resultado que é a criação de empresas. Foram entrevistadas três empresas de imigrantes brasileiros situadas no Concelho da Covilhã. Para a análise qualitativa das entrevistas recorreu-se ao software WebQDA. Ainda que existam diversos estudos que abordam os fatores cognitivos do empreendedor e as medidas de apoio ao empreendedorismo, existe uma lacuna a ser preenchida tanto na literatura como na parte empírica a respeito do empreendedorismo brasileiro em Portugal. A escolhas deste estudo é devido à importância que vem sendo dado tanto ao empreendedorismo quanto ao número de brasileiros que estão imigrando para Portugal. Como resultado, identifica-se que os fatores cognitivos, necessidade de realização, autoeficácia, propensão a assumir risco, locus de controle, afetam de forma positiva a criação de empresas por parte dos imigrantes brasileiros em Portugal, também se constatou que as medidas de apoio ao empreendedorismo são de conhecimento dos mesmos, no entanto pouco utilizadas. Concluiu-se, também, que na opinião dos empreendedores brasileiros as medidas de apoio fazem muita diferença para a criação de empresas.

The Brazilian community is the largest foreign community resident in Portugal, and to better understand the phenomenon of immigrant entrepreneurship, with emphasis on Brazilians, the present study aims to know the determinants in the creation of companies by Brazilian entrepreneurs in Portugal. Immigrant enterprises are important sources of vitality and urban development in modern cities. This is because there’s a large participation of SMEs, it’s a form of integration between the immigrant population and the host country while creating dynamism in the country's economy. In order to give answers to the objectives outlined, a research of a qualitative nature was framed in the methodology of an exploratory case study, a flexible and open interview script was elaborated, which includes a set of questions, based on the theory of the study, with the purpose of accomplishing the objectives of the study, the interview is composed of 29 questions. The explanatory variables considered for the study are — need for achievement, self-efficacy, propensity to take risk, locus of control, and measures to support entrepreneurship in order to obtain the variable result that’s the new ventures. Three Brazilian immigrant companies were interviewed in Covilhã. For the qualitative analysis of the interviews WebQDA software was used. Although there are several studies that address the cognitive factors of the entrepreneur and the measures to support entrepreneurship, there is a gap to be filled both in the literature and in the empirical part regarding Brazilian entrepreneurship in Portugal. The choices of this study is due to the importance given to both entrepreneurship and the number of Brazilians who are immigrating to Portugal. As a result, identify that cognitive factors, need for achievement, self-efficacy, propensity to take risk, locus of control, positively affect the creation of companies by Brazilian immigrants in Portugal, it was also that the measures of support to entrepreneurship are known, however little used. It was also concluded that in the opinion of the Brazilian entrepreneurs the support measures make a lot of difference for the creation of companies.
