Efeito rebound no consumo de eletricidade residencial

Uma análise de países da OCDE
Authors: Melo, Tiago Filipe Sequeira;

Efeito rebound no consumo de eletricidade residencial

Abstract

Improving energy efficiency aims to reduce energy consumption. The rebound effect from technological progress negatively affects energy efficiency policies and has been gaining importance in the economic and energy areas. The direct rebound effect of residential electricity consumption was analyzed based on annual panel data of eleven OECD countries on a timeline ranging from 1992 to 2011. Estimate the co-integration equation and error correction model to estimate the direct rebound effect. The results reveal partial rebound effect in residential energy consumption in countries under review. The policies implemented are apparently correct, however, this issue must be taken into account when formulating energy policies.
